Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, more commonly known as simply Flushing Meadows, is a public park in Queens. It is the second largest park in New York City, after The Bronx's Pelham Bay Park, with an area of 1,255 acres. It was officially created in 1939 for that year's New York World's Fair after previously being a dumping ground. Flushing Meadows now contains Citi Field, The New York Mets home stadium; the New York State Pavillion from the 1964 World's Fair; the Queens Zoo, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and several other attractions.
